Arizona Security Officer Training

Here at Range 1839, we offer Arizona Unarmed & Armed Security Officer training. We only offer these courses in person. This training is mandatory for people wanting to become Arizona security officers. The Unarmed course is 8 hours with the Armed course at 16 hours. The Arizona Unarmed and Armed Security Officer training is 24 hours in total.

Arizona Armed & Unarmed Security Officer Training: $200

This is the combination of both the Armed and Unarmed Arizona Security Officer Training courses.

Arizona Unarmed Security Officer Training: $125

This 8-hour course is required by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) for individuals seeking to obtain an Unarmed Security Guard License (Guard Card).

Arizona law and use-of-force standards
Basic security guard responsibilities
Ethics, public relations, and communication skills
Emergency response protocols
Documentation and reporting

Completion of the course includes the required testing and certification documentation for submission to DPS.

Arizona Armed Security Officer Training: $150

This 16-hour course meets the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) requirements for Armed Security Guard licensing. It builds upon unarmed certification and introduces advanced skills required for carrying a firearm professionally.

Arizona laws on use of deadly force and firearms carry
Firearms safety and handling
Firearm qualification and marksmanship fundamentals
Judgmental shooting and threat assessment
Legal reporting and post-incident protocol

Students must pass both written and range qualification tests to receive the Armed Guard Certificate required for DPS submission.

Arizona Armed/Unarmed Security Officer Refresher: $100

This training course is the refresher course required for licensed Arizona Armed and Unarmed Guards to maintain their certification.
